Music at Holy Nativity

Holy Nativity has a variety of musical opportunities, and all are open to everyone.

Nativity Choir (photo; left) rehearses at 7:00pm on Wednesday evenings. We sing on several Sundays each month at both services and meet from September through May.

The Nativity Choir performs at least one major work each year. In celebration of Holy Nativity's 50th Anniversary, Music Director Iver Hubert composed a setting of the mass titled "Missa Aurea," meaning "Golden Mass", which was performed by a special Anniversary Choir (Nativity members plus friends & singers from various churches) with Orchestra on Saturday, December 5th, 2009. In December 2010, Holy Nativity and Bethany Covenant Church (Richfield) performed "Canticle of Joy - A Cantata for Christmas" by Joseph M.Martin. In March 2011, Holy Nativity hosted a Choir Festival with choirs from five other area churches.

Bell Choir meets on Thursdays at 7:00pm from September through May. Also, Special Music Opportunities are available throughout the year for vocalists, instrumentalists, soloists, small groups, etc.
Plus, we periodically put on special events such as variety shows and coffee houses.

Trinitus is a trio of composers from Holy Nativity: Iver Hubert, Lisa Baker, and Braden Canfield. In November 2008 they released an album of all original music. This self-titled CD contains 5 original works by each, totaling 15 pieces of music, and was re-designed and re-released in 2011. Their music is an uplifting compilation of both vocal and instrumental music. Though this CD was an independent project, Trinitus is grateful to the dozens of musicians from or connected to Holy Nativity who shared their talents and made this CD possible!
